You can still use afterburner or i am able to at least. Just go and turn off rivatuner or if it keep automatically turning on, uninstall it, rivatuner seems to be the real issue. This was an issue a year or two ago for a lot of people with rivatuner. Seems only to be an issue with WOW though. Same issue here. I Was running for many years without a hitch when all of a sudden a few days ago, I started to get freezing. I excluded wow from RTSS and for sure it resolved the issue.
I am triggered though because I am so used to having my stats up on screen. Blizzard or MSI, please fix the issue. Could be a windows update that caused this as well. Who knows. So for anyone that is getting random freezes with graphics and sound stays working in the background, disable MSI Afterburner and Rivatuner. Actually you can just disable or uninstall RivaTuner and it should fix it. So i been getting this recently as well, it seems all of a sudden MSI Afterburner overlay just randomly drops off, i have to restart RTSS to get my overlay details.
I recently started using MSI afterburner and have started running into the same freezing problem occasionally. Can hear game sounds but screen freezes. The freezing stopped once I changed my settings to DirectX Other people in the thread related that it also worked for them. I restarted the computer and now my sound is back. I tried turning off all addons and the freezes still happen. I updated drivers and also turned off anything in the background, including the battle.
All I have to do in game is wait about 60 seconds, hit my character panel hotkey, and can freeze the game on command. There could be a number of things causing it. Drivers, overheating thermal throttling , a corrupt installation, a bad addon or a bad process running on your computer.
Try this:. I changed DirectX 11 to Legacy and the freezes stopped. I took a noticeable fps loss though. Does that narrow it down to any culprit in particular? Same problem here me friend! Game freezes since the patch was instaled, happens to me 5 times in about 2 hours, tue game freezes for about 20 seconds, then my computer freezes too, have to hard reset, i didnt have this problem before the patch… They keep sayin that is our grapich card and our memory, but is really strange those freezes happenin after the PATCH 8.
The "paid" version you're talking about is Windows Pro, which is what I have because I had a previous version of Windows that was equivalent. I can and have installed whatever drivers I want. That's kind of what this thread was about. If you're talking about driver signature, only Kernel-level drivers need a signature, with most drivers being user-level. I'm not too terribly devastated that kernel-level drivers require a signature, though I could see it bothering some.
Nothing is sent in secret or without the ability to disable it. I have completely disabled realtime protection, what on Earth are you talking about? It'll turn itself back on if you use the basic control panel, but if you install another security suite, or if you're a power user and actually want it disabled entirely just disable it permanently via gpedit. About 20 seconds more work than it should be, sure, but not a huge deal. It sounds like most of your complaints are that you either don't use Windows 10 and get all your information second-hand or or maybe and you laughably think you have true privacy on any version of Windows, or on the internet at all.
You do not. You have no idea what Valve is doing with whatever info they have on you. You only know what they tell you. That's part of being online these days. You protect yourself as well as you can, make yourself informed, but don't ever fool yourself.
