Date came into force or revised July Status Revised Policy statement In order to meet graduation requirements and be awarded a British Columbia Certificate of Graduation Dogwood Diploma , students must earn a minimum of 80 credits and write provincial assessments of numeracy and literacy.
Electives Students must complete a minimum of 28 elective credits. Other requirements and options for earning credits Students must complete a minimum of 16 credits at the Grade 12 level, including a required Language Arts 12 course and Career Life Connections. Adult Students Adult students wishing to earn a Dogwood Diploma have the choice of satisfying the above graduation requirements, or the requirements for earning an Adult Graduation Diploma Adult Dogwood.
French Immersion and Programme Francophone Students British Columbia students enrolled in a francophone education authority and students enrolled in French Immersion programs are entitled to be issued British Columbia graduation certificates, in French and English, provided they meet specific requirements. International Students Special rules concerning options for satisfying graduation requirements apply to most international students. Students Unable to Satisfy Graduation Requirements Some students may earn a School Completion Certificate also called an Evergreen Certificate for meeting the goals of their education program other than graduation.

Students who complete their degree requirements during the fall, summer or spring prior to the ceremony or who will complete them in the following summer, are eligible to participate. Diplomas are mailed to graduates approximately twelve 12 weeks after the semester is over in which the student applied to earn their degree.
