A couple of things. Does this system have a SoundBlaster sound card in it? Usually 0x errors are caused by third party drivers which just don't play well with Windows, especially during an upgrade. I recommend removing all non-critical expansion cards during the upgrade, and putting them back in once the upgrade is complete. Also before doing any upgrades always remove any AV software. Bill F.
